FAITH can be misunderstood as a way to simply “get what you want”. That is not what the Bible says. Faith is believing in what God has promised us. We must believe not only that God is real, but that what He says He will do, HE WILL DO!

God is building His church so expansive with energy that not even the gates of Hell can keep it out. We are called to be fitted together as His body in this earth, carrying out His plan. We all find our life’s true purpose in building His kingdom. The local church is the hope of the world, and the greatest cause on the earth.
Some of the most pivotal moments I’ve had in ministry, where God has completely rocked my world and gave me new passion, new hunger, and new ideas, have been at a ministry or conference other than my own. I remember going to a worship event at a church in Dallas, TX several years ago. I went simply because I was hungry to worship and I wanted to glean from the team there. It was in a moment of worship there in Dallas that God spoke to me about writing songs. Someone from the team came and laid hands on me specifically for a gift of songwriting. I came back from that trip and wrote my first ever worship song, “Our Generation”. I believe God honored my willingness to step outside of my world and humble myself to sit under someone else. It was then that God rewarded my prayers of finding my calling. It is not by coincidence that I have heard so many stories of people discovering their purpose or having a life changing moment at a conference at someone else’s church. The new environment helps disregard a spirit of familiarity. It exposes you to the contagious passion of others. It is a physical sign you are hungry enough to hear from God that you will make a sacrifice of time and money.
I believe with all my heart that Youth America Leadership Conference will be this kind of moment for so many of you. God has arranged this experience for many youth pastors and leaders who are in need of a new season, new vision, new found purpose. Each of our guest speakers have incredible thriving ministries. They have so much for us to glean from. But even more than coming to hear guest speakers, come because you are hungry for a move of God in your life and in your ministry, and watch God prove His faithfulness. Jason Laird serves as the Student Ministries Pastor and is responsible for overseeing ministry for students ages 12-30 at Healing Place Church in Baton Rouge, LA. He is also the Chancellor of Healing Place School of Ministry. Along with his Senior Pastor, Dino Rizzo, Jason has been a crucial force in leading the church to serve their cities through a movement called “SERVOLUTION”. In his spare time Jason enjoys taming lions for a traveling circus.
Mathew Barnett, son of Tommy Barnett, is a best-selling author, church growth pioneer, pastor of what Time Magazine considers “One of the three largest churches in America”, and founder of the Dream Center in Los Angeles. As of April 2002, there have been over 130 Dream Centers launched around the world. He has established one of the most influential ministries in our nation with a deep conviction to help those in need.

John Gray has appeared on stages across the world sharing his incredible singing talent, comedic skill and anointed preaching with thousands on a weekly basis. He is gifted in many areas and he continues to branch out into more fields including television, movies and production. He is the founder and CEO of MannaGod Inc. and traveled with Kirk Franklin and God’s Property for over three years.
Rich Wilkerson Jr. is a dynamic communicator with a passion to encourage and inspire this generation to live for Christ. His honest and upfront approach brings a fresh viewpoint and clarity to life’s issues. Rich currently serves as an associate pastor at Trinity Church in Miami, Florida. Rich and his wife, DawnChere lead a weekly young adult gathering in Miami called The Rendezvous. The Rendezvous has grown from 60 people since 2007 and now breaks attendance over 1300 weekly.

Josh Mayo, son of youth ministry pioneer Jeanne Mayo, is one of the premier emerging youth and young adult pastors of this generation. He is the director of 180 Remix, the youth ministry of Harvest Time Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas, which runs several hundred in attendance each week. Josh speaks at various youth and young adult leadership venues and his recently authored book Help! I’m Raising My Kids While Doing Ministry, has received very positive reviews.
Robert Madu is one of the premier young generation voices today. Robert travels both nationally and internationally ministering to several Churches, Youth Groups, and Schools through dynamic preaching and drama. His ability to minister to people of all races, cultures, and generations makes him a commanding and captivating communicator. He is also the on-staff evangelist at Trinity Church in Cedar Hill, TX.
